In the peaceful hills of Salyan District, Baghchaur Municipality, Dangi Gau village, a leader enjoying agriculture and livestock farming alongside politics whose name is Lok  Bahadur Dangi. He has been earning appreciation for his dedication, hard work, and contribution to agriculture and livestock farming. His efforts demonstrate the potential of rural farming to improve livelihoods and strengthen local communities.

Lok  Bahadur Dangi, a farmer from Dangi Gau, has been involved in agriculture and livestock farming for more than a decade. He grows seasonal fruits, vegetables, and cereals and raises buffaloes, goats, poultry, and other livestock. By combining crop production with livestock farming, he has developed a productive and sustainable farming system.

Focus on Self-Reliance and Sustainability

Dangi believes that farming is not only a profession but also a source of identity, dignity, and self-reliance. He uses local resources, traditional knowledge, organic practices, and modern farming techniques to improve productivity while caring for the environment.

With hard work and the right approach, we can improve our livelihoods and make our village more prosperous,” he says.

Inspiration for Other Farmers

Dangi’s progress has encouraged other farmers, particularly young people, to take greater interest in agriculture. His farm demonstrates how fruit production, vegetable farming, and livestock raising can provide opportunities for rural families.

Challenges and Support Needed

Despite his progress, Dangi faces challenges including limited irrigation, access to modern agricultural tools, climate change, transportation costs, and difficulties in reaching markets. He states that government agencies and local authorities can support farmers through agricultural training, technical assistance, irrigation facilities and so on for farmers.
